Well,  I recently watched the new Netflix Ted Bundy movie, and there is one scene in the film that gave me the shivers when Bundy’s girlfriend called the police and reported that her boyfriend had a tan-colored Beetle. I used to believe that it was yellow. The images I searched for and the Ted Bundy 2002 film portrayed it as yellow, which is why I remember it as such. Last year, Netflix also released the Conversations with a Killer documentary series, and I am sure there must have been photos of his car on that, and I still remember it being yellow. The nature of the show means I don’t think we have to look through all of the series to find a picture of his car, but this photo I found on the internet used in the documentary does look yellow, but it may only be the lighting.

Who was Ted Bundy?

Ted Bundy was one of the most dangerous serial killers in the United States, whose name became a reference to terror, manipulation, and violence. To begin with, Bundy was born on November 24, 1946, in Burlington, Vermont, and he seemed to have a standard early childhood, though it was not healthy. Their social background of Bundy was quite perplexing because, right from his childhood, he had been living in a very odd setting of a family where he used to think that his grandparents were genuinely his parents and his birth mother was his sister. This, along with other circumstances, might have led to the monstrous path he embarked on due to his psychological status.

The Crimes of Ted Bundy

It is widely assumed that Bundy embarked on a killing spree in 1974/75, but some people argue that he killed earlier. Most of his victims were the college female students. Additionally, Bundy’s patterns of behavior entailed deceiving his victims, mainly by feigning need for assistance, an aspect of manipulation identifying with their feelings of compassion. After getting them under his control, Bundy would kidnap, rape and then kill his victims. Many of his crimes were committed in various states such as Washington, Utah, Colorado, and Florida.

Bundy was still able to get away with the murders and remain at large for years despite his face being circulated on the “Wanted” posters and the news. Moreover there were cases, when together with the extremely violent behaviour he used to come back to the crime scene and engage in necrophilia with the already dead bodies.

Conclusion

Ted Bundy was electrocuted on January 24, 1989, in Florida State Prison. He admitted to the murder of thirty women at most, but it is believed that the number could be significantly higher. His story still remains the subject of interest because Bundy’s normality even as he committed these brutalities poses important questions on the nature of man. As for his case, it still conquers one of the leading positions in terms of the frequency of references to it with regard to psychopathy and criminality in history.
